Day 1

It was a very early start for all, except for he who shall not be named, but the buses got us thorough to Glasgow on time. Check-in was very swift, allowing time for breakfast, but not before he who shall not be named going through security with 3 cans of fizzy juice in his bag and earning yet another fine - all before 7am!

The previous post highlights what a great start to the tour it was when we met three very lovely Canadian stars from the Commonwealth games - Jasmine Mian (wrestler - bronze medallist), Erica Wiebe (wrestler - gold medallist) and Jessica O'Connell (5000m - 10th). Really nice young ladies who were more than happy to chat with us and pose for photos with their medals. 

On landing in Calgary it was very heartening to have other passengers on the flight make a point of coming to tell the staff how well behaved the pupils had been on the flight. 

We are now all happily in situ at the Port O'Call Hotel in Calgary. All squads trained well and practiced their sun cream application. 

Rest and relaxation now after 24 hours of being awake. 

PS HJK, CD & HWM were all carded in the hotel bar! (Even though we are all drinking water!)
